I’m a teenager, and i honestly think i have OCD… i’ve self diagnosed myself a few times (i KNOW i shouldn’t do it, but i did…) and I constantly check to see if i have it, and i’ve done research on it, and i think its getting worse. But it could all be in my head, and i am freaking out over this; and it only seems to be getting worse.
My usual ‘quirks’ (symptoms?) are : i have to have my books/movies in a VERY specific order that i created when i was really young. its arranged (this sounds stupid) but by color/preference, type, and for books, size. I have to check to make sure the door is locked before i go to bed (even if i saw my parents check it). Also if i get hit on my left foot, i HAVE to hit the right one, until the pressure feels even. (some times i do it too hard, so i have to keep hitting each foot until i feel balanced) This goes on for everything. If my right cheek gets hit i HAVE to inflict some kind of pain to my left cheek just to make the pressure feel right. However that one only happens sometimes, but if i do it once, i am stuck like that for awhile. (If i think about it, i will be correcting myself for weeks). Oh and I am becoming (was?) a hoarder (for my whole life?) and i heard that is also part of OCD…
But my problems are getting worse.
Now, i’m having trouble touching door knobs, railings, and even being in the bathroom. Only certain doorknobs though. Any public one freaks me out (unless i keep myself SERIOUSLY distracted) but even then i hit it open. I feel like i can SEE the germs on these things, and as if i touch it im like dead. Sometimes i’ll look at my hands and i ’see’ germs or like spots on my hands so i have to wash them – so i try to cut it short and just do a basic wash, and not the super long one i want. Public railings disgust me. The bathroom is really weird. Its getting to the point where i don’t want to touch the faucet because it doesn’t get sanitized and i even asked if we could get a separate sink for brushing our teeth in so our teeth germs don’t mix with bathroom germs. Also if i learn about a new disorder, I automatically think i have it, and i start freaking out. And here’s where i freak myself out further.
I keep seeing my death, or my family’s death. I haven’t started any tapping yet, but I keep seeing it, and I’m really freaked out by it. For instance. Sometimes I walk on this bridge with my younger sister, and its really cramped, and there are cars speeding by us, and a highway below us with a low railing. And every time we’re on it, I keep seeing her falling over the railing and getting destroyed by a car, or whatever. I have to focus on the floor so I don’t have a panic attack. This all sounds really weird, but its true. If I’m worried I see those types of things, and I have to talk myself out of it.
Finally I guess there’s some sort of crazy that runs in my family (I don’t know the specifics) and I’m seriously afraid i’ll get it, or I have it. Or i’ll die alone, or blah-blah-blah. I also read that depression is part of it, or they go along together, or something. Maybe its just because I am an over stressed teenager (family and school problems) so I only think I’m depressed, but I seriously feel depressed at times.
I don’t know what to do, and my family is considering counseling for me, just in case, so I don’t get any worse. My dad thinks im faking it (but thats because he can handle seeing blood, and i get near passing out when i see it.). Is this just a stress over load, or something minor?
Should i be worried, and start working on this? Help me please, I feel like i am falling apart.

Ok… it has been a long day now, and I feel further away from getting to bed tonight than when i started.

I was TRYING to hook up our ice maker to the pipe under our bathroom sink – the one that goes from the cold-water up to the faucet handle.

Short version of the story is that now that pipe is no longer in service.. I went to Lowes and they gave me a "ferrule coupler" or something like that… Basically, it is two female nuts, a piece with two male ends, and two tiny metal tubes that go inside of the pipe.

From what I understand, I put the nuts on the pipe, put the little tube thingy inside the pipe, slide the nut down and connect it to the coupler… My problem is that I can’t seem to get things to stay.

I can tighten the bolts all the way to max on the coupler, but then the metal pipe pulls straight out, as though there was nothing there connecting it in the first place.

PLEASE – HELP.

I bought a Glacier Bay 4" 2 handle bathroom faucet. The middle hole for the pop-up rod sits too far back on the faucet missing the sink hole by 1/8-1/4". Any way to make this easy to correct. the sink is a wall mount from the 60’s.
I used a dremel to try sanding it some but it will take me until next week to sand it enough! Not sure if it’s worth it , but I’m too cheap to pay more for a different brand.

If the handle was removed water would come out but just not through the nozzle part. How could this be fixed? Could it be from too much dirty water building up inside it? Because I was turning the hot and cold water valves on and off many times under the sink to try fixing the faucet which originally had a problem leaking.

My question is … the one piece faucets are not long enough (the screw part of it) — and the individual pieces that are made for 8" centersets are actually too big and can’t fit together.

How do I retrofit it? Or I should say, how do I tell my contractor to get it the faucets to fit. I definitely have to use a one piece (with 1, 2 or center handle — I prefer the 2 handle look and am just upset because I had purchased 8 inch centersets to begin with and I would not have had this problem if it was cut to the 8" centerset.)

It is driving me nuts … because I just want these delays to end. I am so over it, now!!

I can’t return it since the contractor actually gave them the okay for it and I didn’t catch the error even though, I had specifically asked the fabricators not to cut until they got to my house. I could oversee the cutting in person.

This is done to 3 of my faucets luckily they did not cut my countertops in my master, powder and my basement… but the other 3 I am screwed (no pun intended!)…

Any thoughts on this? or ideas?

And I would never recommend my fabricators .. . they do now know how to run a business but I had so much granite being done to my house that I did get a good deal but it is being eaten up by all the adjustments and also additional costs to retrofit, me running around trying to find a faucet to work (HD and Lowes think that i am a faucet geek, at least for now)

Here’s the other problem, typically most people get the 2cm tops for the bathrooms but I was assured that the 3cm would be even better for my house and it would be more "high-end"

worked yesterday, but today – nada. Cold water handle turns on cold just fine, but the Hot water knob simply turns and no water is produced. There do not appear to be any leaks, but I do not do plumbing – so i ask – What might I be Looking for, in order to repair this issue ? All other hot water sources thru house work fine.

My friend brother died in a car accident three years ago. Recently, their bathroom sink tap started turning on whenever I or someone was in the shower. It happened to my friend first, but she just thought it was me coming in and leaving it on. Then the faucet started to turn on when I would be taking a shower with the door locked. And it wasn’t like the tap was just drizzling—it was on full blast! The weird thing is, when her brother was alive he had a habit of forgetting to turn off the tap after he used it. My friends dad is a mechanic and he said there was no way the water could come on without someone turning the handle. We have since modernized the taps and the mysterious running water doesn’t happen anymore. Still, it makes me wonder…

This is kind of a weird one. I’m not a complete idiot, but stay with me. About every 2-3 minutes, my toilet doesn’t really flush, but it makes the noise (and motions) as if you were to slightly push down on the handle. There is a "draining" noise, the plunger moves a bit and then it stops. It lasts maybe a second or two. The water doesn’t go anywhere, nothing fills or drains from the bowl, and functionally, the toilet works fine. The toilet isn’t "running" or even flushing fully on it’s own, it is just doing that weird thing every so often. Even more strange, when I use the sink in that same bathroom, the toilet does it immediately after I turn the faucet off. So there is something going on, I just don’t know what. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Follow up: I have checked the flapper and it seems to be in working condition, but like I said, nothing is leaking or running.

why is it anytime i go into a public restroom… and someone walks out of the bathroom stall… they go to the sink and just run their hand under water for 2seconds then flick them off.. no soap no nothin! hello i have to touch that door handle after you…. i have to touch the faucet after you too… and now your possibly touching carts that me or my kids touch! gross….i swear some sick a$$ women think that splashin a little water will wash away the tinkle! yuck! does anyone agree???!?!?!
